Using AI does not mean dispensing with humans
While there is no doubt that more and more businesses are using AI (Artificial intelligence) to manage various functions and processes, this does not mean that they do not need human involvement.
According to an article in Wired McKinsey research shows that most firms have adopted artificial intelligence in at least one of their business functions—up from 50 percent in 2020.
There is little doubt that used wisely AI can help to improve productivity, reduce costs and make a business more sustainable.
However, according too the article “Human oversight of artificial intelligence is needed for a variety of reasons. It can help businesses ensure they get the most out of AI, and provide a guiding hand and a sense check for where AI can—on occasion—get things wrong.”
Human oversight is important in giving a business’ customers confidence in its products and services and most importantly in the security of any of their personal information held by the business.
So businesses should remember that AI is not a substitute for humans, but a partner with them.
