Let battle commence!
It will be interesting to see who wins this battle.
Games makers Sega and Nintendo have both released new games within a week of each other, one for Sonic the Hedgehog, the other for Super Mario.
Reviewers report that the games, Sonic Superstars and Super Mario Bros Wonder, seem to be returning to their series’ roots.
According to the reviews “They are both side-scrollers – games viewed from the side of the characters, where the camera follows them as they move left and right throughout the levels.
“They are also both platformers – a fairly nebulous genre where the goal is generally to bypass obstacles and enemies by utilising different platforms in a stage.
“And they both can be played by up to four people at once.”
For many gamers this will not be a contest since both characters are much loved.
