Coming soon-ish Zelda the Movie

Previous attempts to turn games into movies have had mixed success until this year Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros became one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time.

Perhaps that is why Nintendo and Sony Pictures are planning a movie version of another old favourite – Legend of Zelda.

Development of the film has started, with Nintendo heavily involved in the production.

It is a collaboration as co-producers between video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad of the Spider-Man trilogy and will be directed by Wes Ball.

There is no word yet on who will make up the cast, or the plot of the film, according to the BBC.

It’s a case of “watch this space”.
