A quirky new game resigned in France
This is the first game released by French developer Fireplace Games.
It is called En Garde and it is set in Spain.
Its main protagonist is Adalia de Volador, who takes on the cruel Count-Duke and his minions in battle.
It involves duelling with swords as well as the ability to use a variety of missiles including barrels, chandeliers and jugs left on tables.
The game has been compared to everything from Assassin’s Creed to Dark Souls.
According to the review in the Guardian: The most important thing for Fireplace Games is to let players enjoy the game in their own way. “You get what you give. A good swashbuckler makes a plan, but when those plans go awry, you improvise.”
